The piloting phase of the EmpowerYouth programme has been successfully launched in Bulgaria, marking an important step towards its real-life implementation in schools and youth settings.
Following an international training held in Palermo, Italy, hosted by the partner organisation Danilo Dolci, youth workers, school psychologists, and teachers were trained to apply the programme’s methodology and tools.
Currently, the programme is being implemented in six pilot locations:
- Four schools in Sofia
- One school in Plovdiv
- Sofia Youth Centre
Through interactive sessions, young participants engage in meaningful discussions on topics such as mental health, relationships, social media, and personal development.
The methodology creates a safe and supportive environment for sharing, encourages critical thinking, and strengthens young people’s ability to cope with everyday challenges.
Initial feedback shows strong engagement from students and highlights the clear need for such safe spaces for dialogue and reflection.
The piloting phase is ongoing, with further evaluation and programme refinement planned.
